Miller/Elam Defining Values Speech: Researching & Citing Information

Topic

  • Students will be assigned a value and will develop a speech about a public figure who they believe represents the value. 
  • Use the HFHS Library Databases and Websites to gather information about your public figure to help write your speech. 

HFHS Library Databases

Citing the HFHS Databases with NoodleTools

If you are citing an article from one of the HFHS library databases, you can export the citation directly to NoodleTools: 

  • Open up your NoodleTools Project and select the Sources option
  • In another tab, go to the database article and select the "Cite" button
  • Select the proper citation style (MLA)
  • Follow the prompts then click "Import"
  • Once the green bar appears that it was imported successfully, go back to your NoodleTools Project and refresh the page

PLEASE NOTE : You WILL NOT export articles from Encyclopedia Britannica, but instead will copy and paste the citation listed under the "cite button" to your NoodleTools Project.

Websites

Citing Websites with NoodleTools

If you are citing a website, you will create a new source on your NoodleTools Project:

  • Open up your NoodleTools Project and select the Sources option
  • Select "New Source"
  • Select "Website" then "Webpage"
  • Fill out as many boxes as you can in the template
  • Be sure to look out for any grammatical errors and correct any suggestions from NoodleTools
  • Once the template is completed, select "Save"
